Thanks to a more accepting world (with a long way to go), celebrities are more open about their sexuality, and discrimination is continuing to decrease. Fighting for justice for the GLBTQ community, gay celebrities are using their fame and power to encourage the gay community to be proud, especially gay youth who face adversity everyday.

Succeeding in business, politics, television, and even religion, gays are realizing that overcoming adversity is an important ordeal, and they are climbing the wealth charts in the process. With that being said, here is Luxury Millionaire's list of the Wealthiest Gay Celebrities of 2010.

1) You can't have a list like this without the amazing Sir Elton John as number one! Known as "The Queen," this British pop star has sold over 250,000,000 records, he's landed 50 top 40 hit records, and was even knighted the British Crown in 1998. With so many achievements, it comes to no surprise that Elton John boasts a whopping $500,000,000 net worth!

2) Number two on our list is the infamous Rosie O'Donnell. This actress/comedian is known for her strong personality, her hot seat topics on "The View," as well as her fueds with Billionaire Donald Trump. With a net worth of $100,000,000, it seems no one can stand in her way.

3) Next on our list is music sensation George Michael. Michael started out in the 1980's musical group "Wham," and achieved much success. In 1998 however, he was caught up in a Beverly Hills park restroom scandal...After much media attention, he finally revealed to the world that he was in fact, gay. Still loved by many today, this star sits on a nice $90,000,000 estate!

4) Number four on our list is the amazing Ellen Degeneris. Ellen came out to the world in 1997, and the media went in a frenzy! 6) Also a newbie to the gay world is financial mogul Suze Orman. Known for her "Suze Orman Show," best selling books, and warm personality, no one knew she was even close to gay. She announced her 7 year relationship with her partner in February 2007, and honestly, it wasn't a big deal. 7) Number seven on our list is the talented Melissa Etheridge. Known as a musical genious, gay activist, and breats cancer activist, Melissa is all about peace and justice. She came out to the world during Bill Clinton's 1993 Inaguration. Although many were shocked and created opposition, Melissa rose to the occasion.
