 Organizations United Together (OUT), a statewide federation of over eighty LGBT & LGBT-friendly organizations, announced it is changing its name to “Florida Together”. “The new name, Florida Together, will emphasize the organization’s focus on Florida and its mission of bringing people together, said Ted Howard, Executive Director of Florida Together Federation, formerly known as OUT. According to a press release from Florida Together, aka OUT, the group will continue its work of bringing organizations and individuals together to “network, share best practices, and work together to advance equal rights and quality of life for people in Florida who are gay, lesbian bisexual or transgender, as well as their families and friends.” The press release went on to say that Florida Together recently held its third statewide conference in Orlando on January 23, 2010, which was attended by over fifty different organizations from across the state as well as several Florida senators and state representatives and candidates for state office. |
