One of the roughest times of the year for a psychologist is Christmas.  It’s made rougher for a college counselor like me because it is also final exam time. 

What do Sen. Larry Craig from Idaho, Rev. Ted Haggard from Colorado, and Congressman Mark Foley of Florida all have in common?  Well, besides being the focus of GaySOFLA writer G.P. Harris’ satirical arrows, they also all acted sexually on the DL.  The “down low” is an expression that developed in the African-American community, specifically among the youths who consider themselves Thugs. 

If you ask the average person about “drama”, they will tell you they hate it.  “Too much drama”, “all that drama”, “drama queen”; these are expressions we hear all the time.  But ask that same average person to define drama and they will be at a loss. 

The land of Anita Bryant has become the land of the Rainbow Republic.  So why is it still so damn hard to come out of the closet in Miami-Dade and Broward?
