Local celebrities were out in force Monday night as South Beach’s ‘gAy-listers’ gathered for the 15^th Annual Shelley Novak Awards at Score on Lincoln Road.  Co-hosted by local drag performer Shelley Novak and drag superstar Adora, the event served as opportunity to recognize local drag glitterati. 

Local ‘gals’ were nominated in numerous award categories, including Best Dancer, Best New Comer, Most Glamorous, and Most Comedic. Winners were awarded much coveted trophies, nude Barbie dolls spray-painted gold.   

The Shelley Novak Lifetime Achievement Award (AKA Your Career is Over Award) was presented to Moldavia Ishtar, Brandy Wine Liquor and Alexa Cognac.   

The awards program was preceded with a red carpet walk and guests were greeted by tuxedo clad Pennyback Boyz, one of south Florida’s most popular and collectively handsome party promotional teams.  Presenters included Edison Farrow, Luis Morera, Billy Kemp, Thomas Barker, Dale Stine, DJ Maximus, and GaySOFLA.com’s own Geo Bustamante and David L. Wylie.
