Last  Friday, the Miami Herald's Lesley Abravanel had noted in her Scene in the Tropics column that our dear friend and director of sales and marketing for the Eden Roc Hotel, Saun Lightbourne, was throwing his annual birthday charity fundraiser to benefit the Miami Children's Hospital at The Fifth. Saun had brought legendary international recording artist CeCe Peniston to perform live at his celebrity oriented birthday extravaganza. Yesterday in her regular Tuesday Miami Herald column, Lesley continued with the coverage of CeCe and wrote: "Spotted at Saturday's Deco Party at Marriott South Beach, house diva CeCe Peniston in town for a fundraiser at The Fifth, along with her long-time manager, James Inghram. They were having a cocktail at the pool terrace and grooving to the Ibiza-style vocal house beats of DJ/Producer Oren Nizri. After chatting for a bit, Nizri played two of Peniston's latest hits, to which the singer sang along. "That made the afternoon for the crowd and the party", Nizri told us". Thank you Lesley for the nice mention! Needless to say, CeCe did an amazing job at The Fifth that night, and Saun's birthday party was simply a blockbuster. Congratulations Saun, and happy birthday, again! www.cecepeniston.com

This past weekend nightlife ambassador Tony Guerra, his business partner Simley Boyd and their team had a great line-up scheduled for the grand opening of the long anticipated Aero Bar at 247 23rd Street, in Miami Beach. Based on a combined three decades of experience and contacts, Aero Bar inaugurated the 2 million dollar investment with an over the top party that was extremely well attended; so well attended to the point that the fire marshals had to stop the great set played by DJ Shawn Rudnick on Friday, June 6, at approximately 2 AM, and ordered everyone to leave the premises. Not only did the new club get closed for that night, but for the entire weekend. The Aero team sent a press release the next day with the apologies for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, things escaped their control, especially with the City of Miami Beach being very strict with the venues these days. However, Aero Bar hopes to re-open this weekend and I am sure they will be more than careful this time. To get all the details about their upcoming events, click on the web site www.aerobarmiami.com

On Thursdays, join Dustin Reffca at his weekly soiree Hot Mess at the swanky and recently remodeled long-time hotspot BED at 929 Washington Avenue. Expect sheets, pillows, well-priced drinks, tons of live entertainment, fashion and some great open format tracks by DJ Shannon throughout the night. This Thursday night venture is already considered one of the newest sensations on the South Beach scene this summer. It's recommended that you get there early to avoid the lines and to enjoy the complimentary cocktails from 11 PM to midnight to get your groove on! For more information, click on www.bedmiami.com

On Fridays, Mag Entertainment & MagMiami.com present a brand new soiree in a brand new venue, Dolche Fridays at Dolche Ultralounge, at 1501 Collins Avenue (second floor) in South Beach. Widely known for their loyal followers and their outrageous theme parties, Mag Entertainment just had a soft opening last weekend and now is ready to hit the beach big time on Fridays, bringing together their always chic, sexy, fun and eclectic crowd. Long time South Beach spinner Ron Luna is in charge of the musical orchestration at Dolche, a venue that promises to be one of the headliners this summer. A perfect occasion to check out Dolche Ultralounge and to hang out with the cool and hip, and of course, with the Mag crew, this and every Friday! www.magmiami.com

Talking about grand openings and fresh new venues, interior designer guru and nightlife impresario Mark Lowe of KA, party promoter extraordinaire Elon of KA and Christian Leonard of KA, are working hard and getting ready to launch their fantastic brand new venue, Living Room Nightclub, in Fort Lauderdale. The grand opening is schedule to take place on Independence Day, Friday, July 4th, and the multi-room sexy club promises to take the nightlife in Broward County to the next level. Nothing will compare to the sophisticated decor and the most incredible sound system in Fort Lauderdale, and beyond. We cannot disclose more details at the moment, but get ready for the grand opening of the year, with no doubt. Meanwhile, Mark, Elon, Chris and their team are recruiting contortionists, aerialists, jugglers and acrobats. Info anyone? www.myspace.com/kanightlife
