 GaySOFLA entertainment writer Vixen gets Up Close & Personal with the First Lady of Machete Music Lucero Rodriguez, AKA Kuky, in this exclusive interview.
Kuky Who? Make way ladies! There's a new songbird in the biz. Her name is Lucero Rodriguez. In early January my mother called me hysterical, aying, "You have to come over and see this girl! Her name is Kuky and you have to marry her!!”
Sure Mom...... So I checked her out and was impressed. This girl can sing! Currently residing in San Fernando Valley, This Pisces is currently debating what her next single should be and she has every right to debate which one should be next. All the tracks are so crisp that they make u want to sing with your windows rolled up so no one can hear you belting you heart out !
 The album, produced By Sergio and Francisco Gomez (AWKID) from Machete Music (Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, etc...) It is heavily mixed with strong vocals, Hip Hop, R-n-B, Mariachi, and even an exclusive English track titled "Let Me see". A total of 14 non skip tracks make this album so unlike anything out there right now. Her Current Single " Ya no" makes you want go out and find that x and slap him/her!! ...
Betrayal, cheating, lying, we have all been through. Kuky just tells it like it is and doesn't hold back!

What a dog!!!! I sat down with the First Lady of Machete and asked her a few questions no one dared to ask!!!
VIXEN: Hey Kuky. Finally!
KUKY: I know!
VIXEN: You ready?
KUKY: Yeah, shoot.
VIXEN: Your current single " Ya no" (which can be heard across the nation) is about men and their cheating! Tell us how this song was born?
KUKY: Well it's actually about a guy I was with. We were together for a couple of years, an X-boyfriend of mine. We were together off and on and so when we broke up the writing just took off.
VIXEN: The songs on this album are very strong and just mind blowing when you listen to the lyrics. Would you say this album is dedicated to that X?KUKY: No , not all of them....
VIXEN: You're the first Lady of Machete Music. Do you get any special treatments?
KUKY: No, not really I mean I ask for lil things and yeah... I guess I do hahahahaha.
VIXEN: How many tracks did you record for this album? Usually Artist record like 50 songs and just a couple make the final cut.
KUKY: I did not know that. No one has ever asked me that before. All of the songs made the final cut which I'm so proud!
VIXEN: Oh Wow. That's great. How do you feel about a crossover? On your album you gave us an amazing sneak peek on your English vocals with the track "Let me see".
KUKY: I would really love to... I grew up listening to "Whitney Houston" so yes definitely would love to make a full English album.
VIXEN: Now that you’re in the biz like Fergie says is it all "glamorous"?
KUKY: It can be. But I'm not really into the whole glamorous scene. I'm just relaxing.
VIXEN: Have you ever met anyone you have always wanted to meet/work with?
KUKY: No not yet.... I'd love to work with Marco Antonio Solis, Joanne Sebastian you know Los Bukis!
VIXEN: Yup sure do! Now on your MySpace page. (www.myspace.com/kukymusic). You have a shower scene that I could almost not watch!!!
KUKY: HAHAHAHA. I couldn't almost watch that!
VIXEN: Was it hard to film?KUKY: Lil bit. Yes. It was nerve wrecking.
VIXEN: Were you really naked???
KUKY: You'll have to see if for your self and we'll leave it at that.

KUKY: Yes we're currently working on that right now. It's been there for a while. We have something very special coming up!
VIXEN: Chevere chevere! You recently did some promotions In Miami (El Gordo y la Flaca, Escandalo TV etc...). Were did you visit?
KUKY: Well I stayed by the airport and I visited Lincoln Road and Ocean! LOVED IT LOVED IT! Weather was perfect. Everyone there is so beautiful My God!
VIXEN: Aww. Thanks. hahahaha.
KUKY: Hahahaha
VIXEN: Tell us about your Cinco de Mayo performance.
KUKY: OH. Well it was in Dallas Stadium. There were over 50 thousand people, three stages…lots of fun! Except for the part when my short dress was flying everywhere because it was so windy! So you can see everything.
VIXEN: Oh my goodness!
 KUKY: Yeah but it was lots of fun. Great artist. It was great to see all of us Latinos together. The audience was singing to my music and it was just amazing. My music is very personal to me and I was in awe that everyone knew the words and was singing along.
VIXEN: Ready for the lightning questions?
KUKY: Ready!
VIXEN: Fave perfume you splash on before you leave the house?
KUKY: Gucci
VIXEN: Fave drink?
KUKY: Alcoholic?

KUKY: Love Love Love Amy WineHouse and Brandi Carlisle.
VIXEN: Fave show You are "TIVO-ing"?
KUKY: None Oh wait. I watch CNN with Anderson Cooper He's Hot!
VIXEN: Fave designer?
KUKY: None. Just buy whatever looks good. Not too into labels.
VIXEN: Uncontrollable Fetish?
KUKY: Lip Gloss!!! Addicted.
VIXEN: Pretty good!
KUKY: Ha ha. Thanks.
VIXEN: You've lost a couple pounds and it's noticeable. What are you doing?
KUKY: Really? Oh I love you so much! I've been basically cutting down, eating less portions,
drinking lots of water exercising 4 times a week. It's tough but I feel great about myself.
VIXEN: Any boys at the moment?
KUKY: No. Men are like babies. You have to have time for them and give them lots of attention. It's a lil difficult for me to date right now since I travel a lot.
VIXEN: Speaking of men. How important is the size of a man's Machete for you?
KUKY: OH MY GOD HAHAHA.... Well... it can't be too small. The guy just has to have experience. He has to know how to use it... Can't be a monster either!
VIXEN: A "KUKY" Monster!
KUKY: Yeah!
VIXEN: If you were a cookie who would you like to be eaten by?
KUKY: Any body! Y que me coman con mucho sabor! Y que me disfruten!
VIXEN: Oh Lord. Speaking of eating out (hehehe) how do you feel about having gay fans?
KUKY: I think it's great. I don't care who listens to my music as long as they enjoy it. I'm glad I have gay fans .It gives my music more diversity. And thank you

KUKY: I'm focused on promoting right now. As soon as it's in stone what the next single is we will be promoting it, more appearances. Lots of work. to
