With the exception of “The Hunt for Red October,” I have yet to watch a movie that measures up to the book.

For those of us who read the Da Vinci Code , the movie was lacking. Not due to poor direction or acting, but due to the lack of time allotted in a two hour movie to dedicate to the complex characters and the elaborate plot that made the book such a great read. A short coming not experienced in the movie version of Angels and Demons. There are many that argue that Angels and Demons was a better book, it most definitely was a better movie. However I do not attribute it to the argument that the story was better, I believe that is was less complex and faster paced, two characteristics that make for a good conversion of book to movie.

For those who have read the book, you will be pleasantly satisfied or the only complaint you may find is that you pictured it a bit differently. For those who have not read the book, Angels and Demons is sure to entertain and stimulate your intellect. The movie is well paced, with the perfect combination of mystery, action, believability and the occasion humor.

If you haven’t read the Da Vinci Code read it. If you haven’t read Angels and Demons, the movie will keep you at par at your next book club meet.
